The insurance company SIGNAL IDUNA ASIGURARE REASIGURARE and Lidl Romania are continuing for nine years in a row the strategic partnership and expanding the package of options offered through health insurance. Lidl Romania has over 10,500 employees in all the counties of the country and has been offering SIGNAL IDUNA health insurance to its entire team since 2014.

Lidl Romania is one of the top employers in Romania and constantly takes care of and improves the benefits package for its team members. Due to the nature of its operations, the retail chain has employees all over the country’s counties. Thus, more than 10,500 employees of Lidl Romania, have access to any doctor in Romania and have priority in accessing the necessary medical services without long waiting times. In addition, starting this year, the Lidl Romania team enjoys a shorter waiting time to receive the hospitalization allowance and a higher value of the amount supported by the insurer for pregnancy monitoring services.

SIGNAL IDUNA health insurance covers outpatient treatments, such as specialist consultations, investigations, laboratory analyses, surgical interventions, pregnancy monitoring, and maternity allowance. The retailer employees can benefit from the necessary medical services, through direct settlement in over 1,300 SIGNAL IDUNA partner suppliers, in the Mediqa Net network, and reimbursement in any Romanian public or private clinic, hospital, or medical laboratory.

Health insurance continued to register a positive trend in the first nine months of 2022, with a subscription volume of over 509 million lei, up by approximately 33% compared to the same period of 2021, from 384 million lei, according to data published by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).
