Vivid, the all-in-one financial platform, launches in Romania

Vivid, the all-in-one financial platform, today announces its launch in Romania. Bringing the high financial awareness and an equal possibility to every Romanian user, is one of Vivid’s top goals. Vivid enables everyone to have access to financial services, without unnecessary surcharges. Romania is the 7th country where Vivid lands, after having already successfully launched in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia.

Vivid launched its financial platform in 2020 in Germany, offering a single-app solution that aims to break down the boundaries between saving, spending and investments. The company strives to offer clients across Europe an outstanding user experience, helping to save money and make smart investment decisions with in-app financial education service.

The launch in Romania will introduce Vivid’s investment feature which includes commission free fractional investments in US and European stocks and investments in fractional precious metals like Gold and Silver. With Fractional Coins, Vivid also offers investments in cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH or LTC. Recently, Vivid introduced fractional investments in SPACs as a new investment opportunity. SPAC stands for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, a type of shall company. With the help of such shell companies, a private company can be taken public.
Vivid, a Berlin-based fintech start-up that combines spending, saving, and investing in a single app, aims to become a platform where beginner investors can learn about financial markets and grow their savings safely. In its Series B funding round in April 2021, which Greenoaks led with participation from existing investor Ribbit Capital, the firm raised €60 million.

Fractional investments in precious metals and well-known companies from the US and EU

Vivid’s investment feature is provided in partnership with the German-based Investment Firm CM-Equity AG, enabling it to offer fractional investments to Vivid clients, among other things. CM-Equity AG will be the counterparty for each client trade and responsible for the execution. Via CM-Equity AG, users invest in an underlying share or ETF traded on an exchange.

An in-app Investment “Pocket” allows Vivid clients to invest in stocks and ETFs of world-renowned companies such as Apple, Google and Amazon. Both novice and experienced investors can choose potential investments by sector or theme – for instance, Green energies are currently one of the main investment trends. When Vivid clients invest in US stocks, EUR is converted to USD at a live currency exchange rate together with a low flat markup of 0.5%.

With the precious metals pocket, customers can profit from the potential increase in precious metal prices instead of buying physical metal bars directly. Vivid customers are able to invest fractionally in Gold and Silver from as little as 0.01 euros with the 0.5-1% of markup (the amount added to the cost price of goods to cover overheads and profit).

For the launch, the new service will offer investment opportunities in fifty cryptocurrencies at this stage including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Algorand, BAT, Cardano, Chainlink, EOS, Litecoin and NEM, amongst many others. Crypto investing is available to all Vivid clients and will be further expanded in the coming months. The easily created crypto pocket allows Vivid users to have access to a wide range of crypto offerings, including descriptions, historical market data and current buying and selling prices of each currency.
