THETA Furniture & More, one of the most significant romanian integrators of interior design solutions, implemented the interior design services for the new BCR (Romanian Commercial Bank) branch in Cluj-Napoca. The BCR County Branch has moved recently from its old location in Cluj-Napoca, to a new space in the same city, located in The Office Building, 21 Decembrie 1989 Street, no 77, Ground floor.

The space area of approx. 1000 sq m was fully delivered by THETA Furniture & More’s team, as Interior General Contractor, and the concept has been created by the architecture studio 1722 Studio Lab.

During the entire period of the works of five months, as Interior General Contractor of this project, THETA Furniture & More managed all the activities and works for the execution & delivery of this project, Design & Build, within the agreed budget and delivery time with the client. The design and planning belonged to the architecture studio 1722 Studio Lab, the construction & fit-out works were coordinated by the Project Manager, from THETA’s team, and the furniture is a mix of standard and custom-made products – made in THETA’s furniture production factory.

“The layout concept of our new hub in Cluj-Napoca represents an innovative model of banking communication. This modern and friendly space is designed to encourage, through the entire environment, a more open and closer dialogue with each customer. It’s a place that aims to foster open conversations about money, life goals and plans, based on the principles of financial education. Thanks to our partners at THETA, who helped bring this concept to life, we are convinced that the customers who will enter our new unit in Cluj will enjoy a warm banking experience with high standards”, declared Petru Ciurtin, Director Zonal Retail BCR.

“Although this is not the first space designed for the Romanian Commercial Bank, our architecture office had the mission of designing a space with a new concept, on a generous area of approximately 1000 sq m. The challenge came from the beneficiary’s need to offer customers a space with a fresh design, which merges the front office and back-office areas in a fluid manner, so that the experience is unique for all customers and employees. The concept proposes large open space areas combined with areas for private discussions, with an easy orientation to the space, so that the banking environment will be welcoming to anyone who crosses its threshold. Our involvement in the project included the surveying part, the concept, technical design, approvals, and authorizations up to details of the custom-made furniture products.

We are happy that we worked within such a dynamic team with THETA Furniture & More and that the result of our collaboration represents a reference space for the Romanian Commercial Bank.” – says Iulia Trifan, Architect & Managing Partner 1722 Studio Lab.

Romanian Commercial Bank has been the company’s client since 2020, when we designed the branch space in Satu Mare (800 sqm, P+M). The interactions with the client’s team, the architect, the construction company and the internal procurement, design, execution, and implementation teams, are the most exciting part of my daily work. Each project is unique, depending on the design and technical specifications of execution, with related challenges and satisfactions, however, banking premises require a special approach through the lens of end customer’s needs addressed by the banking industry. “Happy customer, happy life” is my motto and I believe that we have achieved our goal in this project.” – stated Aurel Gaiță, Commercial Manager THETA Furniture & More.

“The fit-out works were the ones that started the implementation of the project, according to the site organization and the work schedule. There were works such as: demolishing walls, the execution of ceilings, glass partitions, ceramic floors, parquet and carpeting, the installation of vertical gardens, planters, caulking, formwork, the furniture ‘s fitting, the lighting system, and others. The last three weeks were the most intense work, but we managed to comply with the deadline and the design of the project, therefore we handed brilliantly.” – affirms Cristian David, Project Manager THETA Furniture & More.
