Wellbeing.ro, one of the most important providers of well-being services in Romania, launches the partnership with Wellnessentially, a state-of-the-art digital wellness platform that helps employers reduce employees’ stress and strengthen their organizational culture through a gamified experience, which further improves creativity, productivity, and their general well-being.

As stress management is a major concern for both employees and employers – given that it leads to low productivity, increased absenteeism, and even staff turnover – HR professionals now have a complete digital wellness solution to develop healthy habits within companies and to motivate employees to become more focused and engaged.

Wellnessentially.com platform is created in collaboration with medical professionals and is based on scientifically proven practices, such as breathing exercises, workouts, pomodoro, and other tools – all within a gamified, interactive system that keeps users engaged.

“We are pleased to complete our product portfolio with Wellnessentially application, a ‘one stop shop’ for the wellness pillar of our company and, at the same time, a complex digital gamification project addressed to organizations – more precisely, to companies in Romania that are interested in offering their employees wellness services as benefits and that are willing to invest in their mental health. The app provides a wide range of mindfulness exercises that are designed to help employees manage stress in their daily lives and improve their well-being, which further translates into increased productivity at work,” declares Alecsandra Ioniță, wellbeing program specialist and founder of Wellbeing.ro.

Following specialists recommendations, the application was developed with behavioral activation at its core.

“This platform is designed so that the end users – the employees – actively interact with the application, develop new daily habits, as healthy as possible, and participate in personalized competitions with the professional community that they are a part of. The gamified system ensures a greater desire to interact with the platform, while global and team challenges keep users engaged via the companion Joey. For example, users receive points and badges after each performed activity, and thus increase the level of companion Joey,” explains Alecsandra Ioniță.

In addition to promoting healthy workplace habits and routines, the platform supports employees in developing effective planning strategies and builds a sense of community among them through collective engagement in activities. Thus, the app includes a section dedicated to team competitions, such as STEPathON, a walking competition for companies wherein employees have to complete as many steps as possible at work, while carrying out their daily activities.

At the same time, the “Challenges” section offers employers the opportunity to suggest actions with a high degree of customization. These can be physical (walking, running, cycling), or based on positive activities, such as breathing exercises, hydration, socializing etc.

“Our goal is to positively impact as many employees as possible through a complete digital wellness program wherein we propose monthly themes and challenges adapted to the time of the year,” says Alecsandra Ioniță.

Moreover, the app also has a social network function, and allows the members of the organization who use the platform to post photos and text messages after performing various activities.

The development of the application and of the tools available on the platform was based on a complex behavioral analysis that included discussions with experts in the field and with direct users, interviews and feedback sessions with people in the industry, as well as an “exhaustion survey” carried out among employees before using the application (consisting of a series of 15 questions related to the participants’ mood at the time, with answers on a scale from 1 to 5).

Wellnessentially.com platform currently has over 2,000 users in Romania, while STEPaTHON registered 678 participants (273 teams from 8 companies) only in the first edition of the competition, with over 100,000 km covered (that is, twice the circumference of the Earth).
