Vola.ro x RUUTS.Travel: Romanians are increasingly going on vacation with campers

Great news for adventure and travel enthusiasts. Online travel agency Vola.ro announces a partnership with the camper rental platform RUUTS.Travel, allowing tourists to now directly book a camper for their vacations, both within the country and abroad.

Camper travel has gained popularity in recent years due to the freedom and comfort it offers. Travelers can enjoy total mobility and explore multiple destinations at their own pace, creating a unique vacation experience. With Vola.ro and RUUTS.Travel, travelers can now book both flights and campers for their trips.

Romanians seek comfort and freedom when choosing a camper trip, exploring destinations at their own pace, including less accessible areas. Romania ranks 9th among countries with a well-developed camping sector, with interest in campers increasing each year.

The typical camper travelers are families with children or groups of 3-6 members looking for fully equipped and family-friendly campers. They prefer traveling abroad during the summer, but there is also a significant segment of tourists who choose to stay close to home and rent campers for a few days spent in nature.

Popular destinations for Romanians include Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Slovenia, Italy (during summer) and Norway, Finland, Austria (during winter). In Romania, most camper rental requests are for Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Brasov, and Iasi.

Currently, RUUTS.Travel offers 100 campers and plans to reach 500 by the end of the year. The campers are equipped with various facilities, such as toilets, showers, air conditioning, heating systems, kitchens, solar panels, awnings, bike racks, and camping furniture.

The rental duration varies between seasons, with tourists renting campers for 7 days during the summer and around 3 days on average during winter. Rental prices also differ depending on the camper model, with average prices ranging from 60-80 euros/night for trailers attached to cars and 120-175 euros/night for campers. Off-season prices can be up to 40% lower.
