Kiwi.com’s cheap flight finding app turns 10

On the anniversary of its travel hacking app, Kiwi.com, a leading travel-tech company, shares insights from its first decade of helping people travel the world from the comfort of their own pockets. In the 10 years since its launch, 15,777,905 people used the app to find their next travel destination.

Currently, Kiwi.com’s app is one of the most used travel apps in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2022, most users of the app were from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine. The top 10 list also includes Romania, Poland, and Spain. In 2022, the app had 4,444,414 million active users worldwide.

Last year alone, 44 million searches were made on the app, and 917,000 bookings. The most searched-for destinations were Anywhere (Kiwi.com’s travel hacking feature that helps find cheap tickets), Barcelona, and Paris. The most searched countries on the app were Italy, Spain, and Poland. The record for the most bookings made in 2022 goes to a user who did 27 bookings, totaling 51,600 kilometers, or one time and a third around the Earth.

Across devices, the Kiwi.com app is equally popular among iOS and Android users. Recently, Kiwi.com’s app was featured as one of the Favorite Apps of the Week for App Store users in Romania. The average time it took users to make a booking through the Kiwi.com app in 2022 was 3.5 minutes.
