The third edition of The Jazz Cave festival is set to captivate audiences from August 16-18 in the Bucegi National Park. This anticipated event promises an extraordinary convergence of over 20 musical ensembles hailing from Europe and beyond, as they converge on the stages of Innerland Cave and Zănoaga Dreamland.

The Jazz Cave Festival pays homage to the diversity of improvisational sound art through a comprehensive three-day program of performances by acclaimed bands from Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Azerbaijan, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, as well as the USA and Japan.

From the captivating melodies of Ava Trio and the soul-stirring compositions of Yukako Yamano to the expressive narratives spun by Nico di Battista and the magnetic resonance of Jesse Davis Quartet, a sonic tapestry of sounds promises to ensnare the ears and hearts of all attendees.

The diverse lineup brings together artists like Ava Trio, Yukako Yamano, Nico di Battista, Jesse Davis Quartet, Koszika & Hotshots, Noise Linguistix, Sokol Prekalori, Rain Sultanov & Shahin Novrasli, Irina Sarbu Band, and many others. Alongside concerts, the audience can enjoy related activities: traveling exhibitions, hikes in the Peştera-Padina tourist resort, and informative and training sessions organized by the Salvamont Salvaspeo Dâmboviţa team.

The two stages where the concerts will take place offer different yet complementary experiences. Peştera Ialomiţei, with its natural dome architecture, amplifies the music’s effect, offering a unique experience for jazz enthusiasts. Also known as the “Cave of the Kings,” it has been known since antiquity and is found in numerous historical sources, with a special place in archaeological, geographical, and Romanian folklore exploration writings.

Zănoaga Dreamland is located in the mountain camping area of Zănoaga, a few hundred meters from Peştera Ialomiţei, nestled in the forest and near Lake Bolboci, a place where music will be amplified by the natural mountain setting. Zănoaga Dreamland will not just be a stage but a exchange of creative energy and authentic interaction between musicians and the audience, where artists will include spectators in their musical sessions who wish to take part in true jam sessions. The concerts will take place in the evening, starting at 19:00, and will be free to access.

The Jazz Cave Festival takes place in the Bucegi National Park, and on this occasion, participants can also visit other important tourist attractions such as Babele, the Sphinx, Tătarului Gorges, the Heroes’ Cross, Lake Bolboci, making it a complete vacation circuit, both cultural and exploratory, in one of the most beautiful mountainous areas of Romania.
