VIDEO. Simona Halep brings the Roland Garros trophy in Romania – Special event on Monday evening at National Arena

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep arrives this afternoon in Bucharest and will present the Roland Garros trophy to Romanians, on the National Arena in Bucharest.

The special ceremony is organized by the Bucharest City Hall. The entry is free of charge.

All people are invited to see the World No.1 Simona Halep this evening, starting 8PM.

„I want to thank you all for the support. I am expecting you on the National Arena,” wrote Halep on Facebook.

Romanian tennis player defeated Sloane Stephens 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to win the 2018 French Open.

“First of all, thank you guys. It was amazing. I felt your support. In the last game I felt like I could not breathe anymore. I just tried to not repeat what happened last year. Honestly, I cannot believe. I’m so happy it happened at Roland Garros and in Paris, my special city,” said Halep moments after the win.
