The organizers of the UNTOLD festival are bringing the world’s best DJs to Cluj-Arena this summer, from 3 to 6 August: Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Alesso and Salvatore Ganacci.

In 2023, UNTOLD is the only festival in Europe with these names in the same line-up, and the eighth chapter of the UNTOLD legend will be a memorable one.

Martin Garrix, the #1 DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100, returns to the UNTOLD main stage. The Dutchman became world-famous after releasing one of electronic music’s biggest hits, the single “Animals”, in 2013. The track has surpassed 361 million plays on Spotify and 1.6 billion views on YouTube.

Garrix has worked with major mainstream artists from Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Usher to U2 and is only the second Dutchman in electronic music history to have four No 1 DJ Mag Top 100s, after Armin van Buuren voted No 1 DJ five times.

He is the first Dutch artist to set a record on the Spotify platform, with the singles ,,In The Name Of Love” (feat. Bebe Rexha) and ,,Scared To Be Lonely” (feat. Dua Lipa) exceeding 1 billion streams. The list of tracks with over 1 billion streams on Spotify isn’t that long, there are only 100.

There are only a few artists who are successful in mainstream and underground culture. DAVID GUETTA is such an artist. After being voted the world’s number 1 DJ two years in a row, Guetta is considered the world’s most relevant artist. In 1001tracklists’ ranking of the top 101 producers of 2022, the Frenchman is number 1.

Guetta has won just about everything: from No.1 DJ status two years in a row in the DJ Mag Top 100 to platinum records for record sales of singles released, recognition and respect from the electronic industry community, Grammy nominations and two trophies, a huge fanbase in every corner of the world and two Guinness World Records trophies. Earlier this year, he was awarded the ‘Producer of the Year’ trophy at the Brit Awards.

He is the Frenchman who has successfully broken into mainstream culture in the United States, has legendary residencies, is the creator of a new genre in electronic music, has raised $2.5 million in donations through

United at Home events. In 2022, Guetta joined select company alongside Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Harry Styles, a rare feat for a DJ and electronic music producer, and the fourth most listened to artist on streaming platform Spotify.

The Frenchman has produced dance pop tracks and underground productions in recent months that have entered the charts, from ,,What Would You Do” with Joel Corry and Bryson Tiller, ,,Crazy What Love Can Do” track he worked on with Becky Hill and Ella Henderson.

,,I’m Good (Blue)” with Bebe Rexha was his seventh single to reach #1 in the UK Singles Chart, it’s the track that also set a Spotify record of over 1 billion plays. Guetta has over 10 billion streams for his productions, another record for a producer, and over 68 million singles sold worldwide.

The FUTURE RAVE sound is another of Guetta’s successful projects, in which he is involved with his partner, Danish MORTEN. The two have taken this sound to the island that never sleeps, Ibiza, in a weekly residency at the world’s number 1 club, Hï Ibiza Theatre, where they have had Idris Elba, ARTBAT and Vintage Culture as guests for the 2022 season. The closing party session had tens of millions of streams on the TikTok platform.

From released productions to live appearances, SALVATORE GANACCI stands out from the conventional artists. He has collaborated with Sanjin and Major Lazer’s Jillionaire, and the official music video for “Money in my mattress”, a production released with Trinidad James, was deemed by MTV as “the weirdest thing to watch all day”. Ganacci manages to engage audiences in a unique way, with the Swede’s live appearances going viral on social media platforms.

KSHMR is considered a unique figure in electronic music, he is a composer, producer and DJ, and his Indian origins have helped him define his musical direction In 2015 he debuted in the DJ Mag Top 100 at number 23, the strongest new entry of that year. Seven years later, in 2022, he is ranked 12th. In 2019 he set a record for views for an electronic production on YouTube, the official video for “Bombay Dreams” passed 35 million views.

Swedish DJ and producer ALESSO has managed to become a relevant name in electronic music culture thanks to a combination of styles: progressive house and pop. His first hit was “Calling (Lose My Mind)”, a track he collaborated on with Sebastian Ingrosso and OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. This was followed by ,,Under Control”, with the British duo Hurts and Calvin Harris, which managed to reach number one in the official UK Singles Chart. Alesso has been invited to open for Madonna on the MDNA Tour and has worked with some of the biggest names in mainstream culture in recent years.

The UNTOLD experience wouldn’t be complete without ARMIN VAN BUUREN one of the most beloved DJs, who has been here since the first edition in 2015. The Dutchman, who for 21 years in a row has been in the list of the top five DJs of the world, has managed to build a special relationship with the festival fans at every live appearance at Cluj-Arena, is the artist who wrote the most beautiful chapter in the UNTOLD story, and in 2023 he returns to the festival mainstage.

This year, the biggest names in the music industry will take to the main stage. The first live band confirmed by the organisers is IMAGINE DRAGONS, a first for Romania. The Grammy Award-winning band from the United States, winner of ten Billboard Music Awards and five Teen Choice Awards, has included UNTOLD in its 2023 world tour.

Techno culture has its own stage in the UNTOLD universe

Amelie Lens, one of the artists dominating club/festival culture in recent years, minimal hi-tech creator Boris Brejcha from Germany, British-born duo Camelphat, Italian Marco Carola considered the ambassador of the techno genre, the man behind the Innervision label, German artist Dixon and the two members of the American project Bedouin are the first names announced for the Galaxy stage.
