The first Dolby Atmos recording studio in Eastern Europe has opened in Bucharest

The only certified Dolby Atmos recording studio in Eastern Europe (the most advanced sound system worldwide) has officially opened in Bucharest. This event marks a significant step for the Romanian and European music industry, offering local and international artists an unparalleled platform for creation and production.

Investment of over 1 million dollars in the latest equipment

The investment in state-of-the-art equipment, of over 1 million euros, represents the infusion of a prominent American company, WJB Media. Equipped to transpose sound in the latest Dolby Atmos technology, the studios will be the reference place for Romanian artists who aspire to reach international standards in the music field. The complex already attracts both established and local stars, giving them access to the latest audio recording and mastering technologies, recommended by the major music streaming platforms, but also by the new devices on the market, indispensable for today’s life.

Bucharest, technological leader of sound engineering in Eastern Europe

Bucharest has become a top center for sound recording and mastering technology, surpassing many other European capitals. The studio certification was carried out by Pavel Stverak, Dolby Europe (FOTO) specialist. Joe Hellow, alias “Dr. Sound”, one of the renowned sound engineers and studio designers, known for his collaborations with big names in the music industry of the moment, such as Post Malone and P!NK. The team is led by Cristi Dobrića, one of the best-known Romanian professionals, whose work has defined the sound of hundreds of Romanian artists.

The only place in Romania officially accredited with Dolby Atmos, the revolutionary surround system that redefined the audio experience, is preparing for a new step: the Dolby Atmos Movie studios, the space where the sound of domestic films will reach new standards. At the moment, Dolby Atmos technology is present in all high-end electronic devices, from mobile phones and televisions, to home cinema audio systems and video games.

Start “born” by the elite of the music industry

Joe Hellow, known in the top of the music industry as The Sound Doctor, supervised the installation and calibration of the sound equipment. Renowned for his work with top artists, Hellow brought to Bucharest the excellence characteristic of successful productions from the United States.

Located in the north of the Capital, the studio is the largest center dedicated to technical printing solutions and professional audio mastering in the country. The studio complex also offers a generous space, capable of simultaneously hosting ensembles of up to 25 musicians. Through this investment that will improve and promote the local musical level, Bucharest is firmly positioned on the map of innovation in global music technology, attracting the attention and interest of artists and producers from the entire geographical area.Two iconic figures of the world music industry, Mary Hammond (vocal coach for artists such as Coldplay, Adele, Dido) and Matt Lawrence (Grammy-awarded music producer, who has worked with names such as Adele, Beyonce and U2), held at Ines Studio a practical workshop where they revealed some of their secrets acquired in decades of experience.
