iMapp Bucharest returns this weekend. Jean-Michel Jarre is the official ambassado

iMapp Bucharest – Winners League, organized by the Bucharest City Hall, through CREART, will take place on Saturday, September 23, in Constitution Square. The 8th edition of the international 3D video mapping competition promises to be a spectacular event, offering visitors an immersive experience where art meets technology, in the most significant New Media Art project in Romania.

According to the official programme, iMapp Bucharest promises 12 hours of entertainment for the residents and tourists. On the stage in Constitution Square, starting at 11:00 AM, DJ CS84 will bring electronic rhythms to the audience. In the afternoon, at 5:00 PM, KOV will captivate with music and dance, and at 7:00 PM, DJ Ravin, the creator of Buddha Bar compilations, will enhance the atmosphere with electrifying music.

As the evening darkness sets in, the iMapp Bucharest – Winners League show will begin. In front of an international jury comprised of professionals in audiovisual arts, 5 teams, winners of video mapping festivals from France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, and Japan, will compete and project their works onto the 23,000 square meter façade of the Palace of Parliament. The theme for this year’s competition, “CONTRASTS,” guarantees, together with the participating teams, the transformation of Bucharest into the world capital of light. The atmosphere of the world’s largest 3D video mapping event will be complemented by street artists in thematic costumes, taking the audience on a journey through art and technology.

The Official Ambassador of iMapp Bucharest, the renowned international artist Jean-Michel Jarre, will be present in Bucharest to personally award the Grand Prize to the winning team chosen by the competition’s jury.
