During the winter holiday season, 21% of the participants in the study stated that their budget was negatively affected. Additionally, 14% of the study participants believe that their diet is negatively influenced during this period due to the abundance of rich culinary options and increased expenses.

The study further revealed some interesting findings:
People who live in households where the maximum net income is up to 7500 lei believe to a greater extent that their budget is affected during the holidays compared to other periods of the year.
Our data shows that people over 55 feel an improvement in family relations in a higher proportion than the younger ones with the arrival of the winter holidays.
The mental state of respondents is positively influenced during this period, in the opinion of women rather than men, people in a relationship and residents of the Bucharest-Ilfov or South-East regions, compared to residents of the other areas.

According to the data highlighted above, the study underlines that older people notice progress in their relationships with those close to them in a greater proportion than the younger ones with the arrival of the winter holidays. This can be explained by the fact that during this period, older people are visited by family members to spend time together.

The study also revealed that women and young people between the ages of 18 and 24 and married people or those in a relationship believe that social activity is positively influenced during this period. This may result from the increased opportunities to interact with others during the holiday season.

Cult Research underlines the importance of winter holidays for Romanians and the impact they can have on the personal budget. The results of the study also revealed that despite the financial challenges, the winter holidays bring with them a sense of fulfilment and joy in family relationships and contribute to a better mental state.
