Organic Wine at Its Peak in the Upcoming 2022

Organic wine is at its peak and will continue to become even more popular in 2022, and part of the reason is the Covid-19 pandemic. Sustainability is also at its peak of importance since consumers are extremely concerned about what they drink or eat, so naturally, they are fueling the development of the famous organic wine movement all around the world.

Europe already holds around 60% of the entire global production, and as for countries, Italy, Spain, and France are leading the group.

Italy is number one with 54.8m hectolitres, and Spain is second with 44.4m hectolitres. Then comes France with 24.1m hectolitres.

On the other hand, the leading countries in wine consumption are also France, but the other two are Germany and the United Kingdom.

Germany stands with interesting numbers since around 22% or 8.9m purchase organic wine in less than a month. France sold 9.3m 12-bottle cases only in 2020 alone, and there is a vastly increasing demand that will raise these sales to 17.3m cases by 2022. And in the UK, there is a 5% organic wine consumption rise, and in 2022, these numbers are expected to be doubled to at least 9%.

Another important part is that the growth forecast shows that the organic wine market will reach 87.5m cases by 2022, with Europe having 78% of the entire organic wine market worldwide. With 9.2% compound annual growth from 2017 to 2022, the best progress is predicted for the organic wine subcategory.

8wines.com is where you can purchase some of the best organic wines, such as Bodega Chacra Chardonnay, Rafael Palacios Sorte 0 Soro, Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve, and Montevertine Le Pergole Torte.
