The Le Manoir Group, one of the most important players in the fine gastronomy and wine market, has launched the 2023 edition of the Holiday Gourmet Gift Catalog, which has a tradition of almost two decades. 19 years ago, Cristian Preotu, the founder of the group, introduced in Romania a special catalog dedicated to gourmet gifts, an important niche in the luxury market.

“Since 2004, this segment has been continuously growing, and we have grown along with it. Although the market is now more fragmented, there is even more openness to offering these gifts and we are glad that throughout this time, the biggest names in local business are still Le Manoir customers,” says Cristian Preotu.

Le Manoir’s customers are both individuals, who buy special gifts for friends, family, business partners, and large companies that place significant orders of hundreds, or even thousands of gifts, for employees and associates. The average value of a gift is about 300 lei, and in 2023 the group estimates that this commercial activity will generate revenues of over 7 million lei.

The Le Manoir Catalog has already become a tradition, reflecting the company’s passion and dedication to gastronomy and fine wines. It recommends a selection of meticulously crafted gift packages that bring together the highest quality products from distinguished names in international gastronomy. These producers develop special Christmas projects each year, such as the collaboration between Fiasconaro, an artisanal bakery producer from Sicily with seven decades of experience, and Dolce & Gabbana, a representative brand of Italian fashion. The result is a collection of delicious Panettone, which Le Manoir exclusively imports. Another example is the Les Toits de la Gourmandise (“Gourmet Roofs”) collection by another artisan, this time chocolatier Cluizel, who this year proposes, among many other products, a beautiful advent calendar that perfectly symbolizes the spirit of the holidays.

In addition to these, the Le Manoir Catalog also includes special Christmas packages from Comtesse du Barry, as well as thematic products from Maxim’s de Paris. For the end of the year, special editions from the world of wines are also prepared, such as Champagne Bollinger R.D. 2007, a wine that expresses the authenticity specific to this great house, or the exceptional Château Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classé 2013. For those who prefer limitless indulgence, Le Manoir also presents wines such as Petrus 2019 Magnum, priced at 58,000 lei. To complement the gastronomic gifts, the catalog also proposes a selection of Assouline coffee table books, including “The Impossible Collection of Wine – The 100 Most Exceptional Vintages of the Twentieth Century,” a unique edition priced at 6,900 lei, as well as Sydonios wine glasses and decanters, a French company specialized in crystal glassware, blown by masters from Bohemia.

The gift packages also include Christmas tree ornaments, skillfully handcrafted by Romanian artisans, as well as a selection of Romanian wines, such as Cuvée Valerius – Alutus Primus from Crama Avincis, created from a new exceptional Romanian grape variety, Alutus, revived in Drăgășani. This wine, a limited edition of 2200 bottles, was launched at a gastronomic event at Le Manoir Gourmet Market at the end of October. Cuvée Valerius – Alutus Primus is available for purchase exclusively in Le Manoir stores. One aspect for which Le Manoir is recognized and appreciated are the high-quality packaging, a symbol of attention to detail that reflects in the overall quality of the gifts.

In addition to international brands, the catalog is artistically anchored locally, with this year’s cover created by the talented Romanian artist Teodora Gavrilă, offering an authentic touch representative of each catalog launched by Le Manoir. The interior illustrations complement the festive and creative atmosphere of the catalog.

“Every year since 1945, Château Mouton Rothschild has chosen a different painter to create their wine label – we’re talking about famous names like Dalí, Chagall, Kandinsky, Miró, Warhol, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, just to name a few – similarly, we also wish to promote art and the elegance of art, beyond its commercial aspect, through the Le Manoir catalog, through the events we organize in our restaurants and stores, and in our daily activity. This close connection with the artistic world is representative of the Le Manoir group, because in all our initiatives our goal is to promote what is Good and what is Beautiful,” states Cristian Preotu.

In turn, Teodora Gavrilă says, “I am very happy about what we have managed to achieve in collaboration with Le Manoir, both in terms of the catalog cover and especially the exhibition of works at Le Bistrot Français. The association between art and fine gastronomy is very fitting, and Le Manoir’s initiative to support and promote local art is commendable.”

The catalog offers a variety of prices, not just products, starting from 95 lei and going up to 8,500 lei per gift – such a package contains collectible wines, like the aforementioned Champagne Bollinger R.D. 2007, Château Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classé 2013, and Aile d’Argent du Château Mouton Rothschild, and delicacies such as duck foie gras, goose foie gras, Agen dried prunes filled with vanilla cream and glazed, and a box of artisanal chocolate candies from Manufacture Michel Cluizel. These come packaged in a gift chest and together create a truly special and memorable gift.

“In the Comtesse du Barry and Le Manoir Gourmet Market stores, you will find an exclusive selection of gourmet products and fine wines. Since 2004, we have traveled, tasted, and selected the best products from artisans and renowned chefs or small producers, to bring them together in our stores. The famous wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, or the New World, sit alongside fine cheeses, foie gras, Jamon Iberico, caviar, oysters, Balik smoked salmon, and many others. I invite you to explore the magical universe of fine gastronomy through this special catalog, to discover the authentic taste of the holidays and find the perfect gift for business partners and loved ones!” adds the group’s founder, Cristian Preotu.

The gifts can also be purchased online, as well as in the three stores in Bucharest: Comtesse du Barry Ateneu, Comtesse du Barry Episcopiei, and Le Manoir Gourmet Market. Additional information about the catalog can be requested at the email address office@lemanoir.ro or on the company’s website, www.lemanoir.ro.
