The last weekend of April brings the second edition of the Soul of Romania festival to the Royal Domain in Săvârșin. All that is good and the things that make us beautiful are concentrated in two days of experiences that encourage Romanian artisans to connect to the community and help us discover the small local producers, the authentic traditions and customs of the Romanian village.

The event initiated by Profi brings together small local producers, skilled craftsmen, an outdoor cinema with Romanian films, popular dances and concerts performed by, among others, Narcisa Suciu, Vasile Șeicaru, Ducu Bertzi and Florin Chilian. The participants in the second edition of the Soul of Romania festival will have a meeting of the soul with Father Constantin Necula on Saturday, April 27.

“We are glad that the Soul of Romania festival is already becoming a tradition started by Profi to connect us with everything that makes us good and beautiful, in a place with a special historical charge. We seek to pass on to current and future generations those tastes and customs that define us as Romanians and that are good for us. In the last weekend of April, we bring together organizations and people who take care of the community and learn from each other how to put soul into Romania”, conveys Călin Costinaș, Deputy General Director of Profi.

On April 27 and 28, between 12:00 and 19:00, the Soul of Romania festival offers participants the opportunity to travel to a timeless village, in the time of the ancient settlers. In the space of the Royal Domain in Săvârșin, near the Stejarilor Bătrâni Avenue, small local producers, supported by Profi, offer for sale their traditionally prepared products, made from fresh and healthy ingredients. Also here, workshops are open for all ages, there are experiences for connecting to the Romanian village and its values, and several organizations are brought together that, like Profi, put soul into the community.

Entry is free and participation in all festival activities is free!

The event encourages the community to connect to the authentic values, good tastes and traditions of the Romanian village through experiences lived in a natural setting in which the rural world is recreated. The Profi initiative is part of the tripartite agreement “We Grow Communities”, signed by the Association of His Majesty’s House, the “Mihai I” University of Life Sciences in Timișoara and the Profi chain of stores, for the support of local producers and the preservation of authentic and traditional Romanian handicrafts.

At the official opening of the Soul of Romania festival, on April 27, from 3:30 p.m., Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Crown of Romania, Prince Radu, several officials and central and local authorities confirmed the presence.

The complete program of the festival can be consulted on the Soul of Romania website and in the event created on Facebook.

Tradition to support local producers

For Profi, community involvement is a tradition to which he dedicates time and resources, including the Local Goodies Shelf, the largest program to support small local artisanal producers. Beyond the presence at the Local Goodies Shelf in selected Profi stores, small local producers tell their stories and present their offer on the widest national platform for their promotion, Via-Profi.ro, through which anyone can start a journey full of the flavor of Romanian tastes.

With 28,000 employees in more than 1,713 own and Partner stores present in almost 850 urban and rural localities, Profi is the largest private employer in Romania. PROFI SUPER, PROFI CITY, PROFI GO and PROFI LOCO, the four store formats of the network, open a range of 5,000 products appreciated by the more than 1.2 million customers who shop in these stores every day. More than 94% of these products come from suppliers in Romania.
