The Carmistin Group launched this farm, adding Healthy Fed Organic Chicken to the La Provincia brand – a premium, top-quality product.

“The opening of the first organic chicken farm is a significant milestone for us, aligning with Carmistin’s plan to produce organic food in Romania. The demand for such products, like the Organic Chicken from La Provincia, indicates a maturing market focused on quality, healthy, responsibly, and sustainably produced food,” said Andrei Brumaru, CEO of Carmistin.

The new farm, located in Leleasca, Olt county, amidst nature, plans medium to long-term expansion of its organic segment. The Organic Chicken from La Provincia, sourced from this new farm, will be available in the Romanian market from November 1, 2023, with weights ranging from 700 to 1,200 grams per tray. The product will stand out from current market offerings due to:

  • Feed from 100% organic cereals,
  • Free-range upbringing with minimum space requirements per bird,
  • Non-GMO ingredients,
  • No pesticides, antibiotics, or synthetic additives used,
  • A longer growth process with a minimum slaughter age of 81 days.

“Producing organic food today signifies responsibility and courage. It’s a serious business commitment requiring significant investment and effort. I’m delighted about this premiere and commend Carmistin and La Provincia for their efforts,” said nutritionist Mihaela Bilic, who was present at the launch event.

Regarding Carmistin’s organic approach, the method ensures balanced, natural growth without negative environmental impacts. Carmistin has implemented rigorous industry standards in harmony with European legislation and ensures complete product traceability. La Provincia is the only Romanian brand with two certified organic slaughterhouses.

This year, Carmistin also introduced its organic egg range, La Provincia. The brand’s portfolio includes vegetarian chicken, antibiotic-free chicken, floor-raised chicken, marinated chicken, and the new organic chicken. Last year, the poultry division accounted for over 50% of Carmistin’s business. Currently, the group ranks among the top food producers in Romania. Carmistin entered the poultry market in 2008 by establishing Avicarvil and acquiring the Oltchim poultry platform, which has a history spanning over three decades in poultry production. Over time, the company solidified its position, becoming one of the leading poultry producers nationally.
