Brasov will host an anniversary concert on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in the Black Church, starting at 20:30. This summer concert, performed by the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor Steffen Schlandt, promises to be one of the most memorable musical events of the year.

The evening’s program will include a masterpiece of classical music, Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6. This work is recognized for its brilliance, depth and passion, enveloping the audience in an atmosphere of intense emotion. Bruckner’s composition oozes sensitivity and tragedy, perfectly capturing the essence of human feeling. It is a symphony that stands out for its avant-garde elements, its omnipresent rhythmic pulsation, its uniqueness – the only Bruckner symphony that has survived in a single version. The slow part was played, at the composer’s request, at his own funeral.

One hundred years ago, Brasov celebrated the centenary of Bruckner’s birth with TE DEUM, and Symphony No. 7 – the orchestra consisting of 117 artists from the Philharmonic orchestras of Sibiu and Brasov.

Tickets for this concert are available at the box office of the Brașov Philharmonic, online at bilet.ro, as well as at the concert venue before the concert.

The Black Church concert, a collaboration between the Brașov Philharmonic and the Evangelical Community C.A. in Brașov (Black Church) will undoubtedly be a landmark in the summer season of the Brașov Philharmonic, offering an unforgettable musical experience in a historic and impressive setting.
