Art Safari and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea present “Korean Beauty in Poster Art” – an exhibition showcasing poster artworks by Byoung-il Sun inspired by Hangul (Korean Alphabet) and Korean culture at Dacia-Romania Palace (The Bucharest Municipality Museum), 18-20 Lipscani Street.
This exhibition represents the highlight of ‘Korean Week’ (October 10-16), the annual cultural event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea which aims to increase visibility and interest in Korea. Byoung-il Sun will visit Art Safari and meet the audience and guide them to discover the contemporary values hidden inside Korean traditions, through his new method of visual art.
Byoung-il Sun, a multi-awarded graphic artist and professor with an artistic practice spanning more than three decades, brings to Art Safari images of Korean culture that translate the Korean language writing system into art.
“Korean Beauty in Poster Art” will be highlighted by two special events which take place at Art Safari: a Hangul Typo Stencil T-Shirts Design Class dedicated for students on Wednesday, 12th of October, 10:30AM and a Hangul Calligraphy Event open to the visitors of Art Safari on Thursday, 13th of October, 6PM, both instructed by Byoung-il Sun.
“We hope that the Korean artist and Romanian students and public collaborate, sharing their spirit and sense of art, as we believe that mutual understanding and communication are the basis for increasing Korea’s visibility in Romania”, says Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Kap-soo Rim.
