Bucharest’s Grant Bridge to undergo extensive restoration. Works will cost RON 52 mln and take two years

Bucharest’s Grant Bridge (Podul Grant), a motorway and light rail bridge, which connects Crangasi Square with Turda Street, will undergo extensive restoration and renovation works, the city’s City Hall announced.

The General Council of the Bucharest City Hall approved on Wednesday the technical and economic indicators for the rehabilitation and consolidation of the Grant Bridge. The value of the investment amounts to about RON 52.2 million. The works will take two years, the municipality says.

According to an expertise made in 2016 for the Grant Bridge, the technical condition of the bridge was assessed as unsatisfactory.

“It is believed that by carrying out the works proposed in the design documentation DALI phase, the passage will be brought to a state that corresponds to the quality requirements of Law 10/1995, namely resistance and stability to static, dynamic and seismic actions, safety durability in operation, hygiene, human health, protection and restoration of the environment “, the draft decision of the draft decision of the General Council says.
