Other international hotel chains have also expressed their interest in the Romanian hospitality market. Romania has always been a target for luxury chain Kempinski, says Ursula VonPlaten, regional director of PR for the hotel chain. “However, it is Kempinski's strategy to be either the market leader in the destinations we are in or to manage unique properties. So far, the right product has not been found in Romania,” she said.
“Romania's inclusion in the EU is an additional reason for us to explore the market,” Marco Ferrari, director of external communications for Starwood Hotels, told BR. Without disclosing information on potential deals in Romania, Ferrari said that of the Starwood brands Sheraton would suit the country very well.
