As part of the expansion plan, the company plans to develop a ferry transportation system to provide weekly cargo shipping between Istanbul and Constanta with two vessels. Gokbora will also increase its car fleet ensuring weekly transportation routes from Turkey-Romania with 80 to 120 vehicles, according to the official data. The company is planning the construction of a headquarters and two storage spaces in Bucharest in 2008, and to increase the number of employees from 15 to 70.
Gokbora International Transport estimates EUR 8.7 million worth of turnover for the Romanian market and EUR 104 million group-wide by year-end. Next year, the company expects to increase its turnover by 15 percent, reaching EUR 120 million group-wide.
The Gokbora group is controlled by two Turkish businessmen and runs transportation activities with a fleet of 1,100 vehicles in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Romania.
