Innovation in these difficult times comes also from Ministry of National Defence, which announced that Center for Scientific Research for Defense CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) and Ecology launched the first Romanian isolette – an evacuation system for personnel contaminated with biological agents – BIOEVAC.
“The scientific researchers from the Center for Scientific Research for Defense CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) and Ecology from the Research Agency for Military Technology and Technologies (ACTTM) have developed, in a record time, a personnel evacuation system for personnel contaminated with biological agents – BIOEVAC (isolette). The equipment ensures the temporary isolation and safe transport of personnel suspected or confirmed to be contaminated with biological agents, including SARS-CoV-2, and is equipped with a negative pressure filter-ventilation system”, explains the Ministry of National Defence.
The product developed by the military researchers meets the security standards for the prevention of contamination risks in the isolation area and on the transport route of the infested person.
According to the official information, the prototype was finalized on March 16, being made in collaboration with OSTIMPEX SA, specialized in the production of CBRN protective equipment, which made available to the research team, free of charge materials, raw materials and working hands, based on the research project carried out within the Ministry of National Defence.
The product was already tested and approved by specialists from the Department for Armaments and scientific researchers and it’s going to be transformed into mass-market product for this particular times.
