IULIUS Group supports a local community initiative for integrating Ukrainians in Iași

IULIUS continues its efforts to support Ukrainian refugees alongside other responsible companies and members of the civil society. As of today, Iași is the first city in Romania to have its own platform providing employment opportunities and useful information dedicated to those who wish to remain here. “Ukrainians in Iași” is an endeavor initiated by ThinkOut and Namogo, and supported by IULIUS Group.

“Ukrainians in Iași” primarily works as a recruitment support tool and a guide providing assistance for any Ukrainian citizen interested in a longer stay in the city. The online activity of the platform will be doubled by creating a Ukrainian call-center that will actively track the hiring opportunities and liaise between candidates and employers.

The platform has several long-term goals, but for now it centralizes hiring offers, benefits dedicated to Ukrainian people, useful links and information about NGOs that need support, in Ukrainian, Russian, English and Romanian. This is a space that brings together people, companies and opportunities. “We want Iași to be a real option for as many Ukrainians to rebuild their life as much as, looking beyond these first few days. We know everyone is hoping to return to their homes as soon as possible, many are only in transit, and almost no one was initially thinking of staying here. It is unclear how things will evolve in the coming weeks or months, but irrespective of the timeframe we are looking at, it is worth providing them with all our support for a minimum of normality in our city,” said Cristi Bârlădeanu, co-founder and CEO of ThinkOut.

“Over the last couple of weeks, we have all been touched by the drama of those affected by the conflict din Ukraine and helped in various ways so as to cover their immediate needs. By supporting this platform, we go one step further to ensure long-term support. Palas complex concentrates a powerful business community, both in the office buildings and in its retail component, as well as a social community. We want this initiative to act as a singular hub that centralizes all the support offered to Ukrainians,” said Raluca Munteanu, Development Manager at IULIUS.

At this time, the platform integrates dozens of employment opportunities, both remote jobs and jobs that cannot be done remotely in several domains: security staff, waiters, cooks, fitters, electricians, up to specialized positions in IT. The platform also includes job openings in the IULIUS Group projects in Iași.

“Ukrainians in Iași” is more than a website for job listings, the positions offered being validated directly with employers and providing active support in liaising between candidates and companies, particularly now, when things are unclear. There will also be an active support team to answer phone calls and/or messages in Ukrainian and Russian.

The platform also includes a section dedicated to the benefits provided for Ukrainians coming to Iași. More than 30 retailers in Iași offer, based on Ukrainian ID cards or passports, benefits such as: medical services, free meals, free of charge veterinary assistance, COVID 19 PCR testing, etc. All the venues are marked with “Supporter of Ukrainians in Iași” stickers.

The platform was developed in a record time of just one week; it entailed discussions with dozens of Iași-based companies and received support from dozens of volunteers, including volunteers from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
