Game World, a company that has been operating game rooms in Romania since 1999, donates 15,000 euros for the purchase of masks with anti-coronavirus filters. The sponsorship was made for the benefit of the SMURD Foundation. The protective equipment purchased will be allocated to SMURD teams from Constanta, Brasov and Alba Iulia.

Game World joins other Romanian companies that are involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and is consistent in its efforts to support the local communities in which it operates.

For the capital, Game World Bucharest Mall, the largest games room in Romania, donated 50,000 Euro for the benefit of “Dăruiește Viață/Give Life” Association. The sum is intended to support the efforts of this association for the construction of the modular hospital 1 Elias, aimed at caring for COFID-19 patients and to support the medical system in the fight against coronavirus.

Through this, Game World supports non-governmental organizations that raise funds to support our country’s health care system. The company thus pays tribute to the efforts and dedication of medical personnel on the front line in the fight against the disease, contributing to this end with its own financial reserves.

“We have allocated these amounts to support the struggle of those on the front line – doctors, nurses and health care staff. Now, more than ever, our future as a society depends on the success of these heroes in the battle against the epidemic, as well as how the rest of us will understand to stand in solidarity and help each other at a truly critical time. We are a responsible company and we have chosen to provide this support through solid, experienced non-governmental organisations that know the field and are our traditional partners in our social responsibility efforts. We are determined to continue to support the communities in which we are present, as we have done so far”, said Andrei Frimescu, Marketing and PR Director Game World.

With over 20 years of experience in the field, Game World has 7 games rooms in Bucharest, Constanta, Brașov and Alba Iulia. All units have been temporarily closed since 18 March by military order; during the state of emergency the company retained all of its approximately 400 employees.

During 2019, the companies that make up Game World Group donated about 1.7 million lei to various corporate social responsibility initiatives. The company supported 29 beneficiaries, including organisations such as the HOSPICE House of Hope Foundation, the “Give Life” Association, MagiCAMP and the Little People Association, Brasov Community Foundation and the Children’s Heart Association.
