Safir group, that includes the companies Safir, Nutriva, Sagem and Safi-Star, stands as one of the most significant local employers. With an impressive workforce of 767 active employees, Safir group demonstrates its commitment to the development of the communities in Moldova.

Approximately 80% of the group’s employees come from Vaslui county, occupying various roles in its seven farms, three factories (dealing with semi-prepared and prepared products, combined feeds and protein flours), an abattoir, company-owned stores and supporting departments catering to these divisions.

George Safir, the CEO of the group, states: “Many of our employees have been with us for a long time – 15 years, 18 years, 20 years. The most tenured employee has been with us for 27 years. There are also many who celebrate more than 10 years of service with us. In the management department, 75% of the members have at least 10 years of experience in our organization and I believe this reflects the quality of work we have consistently delivered over time.”

Significant Contribution to Moldova’s Economic Development: Estimated Turnover of Over 79 Million Euros for 2023.

A recent study conducted by Romanian Business Leaders (RBL) and ING reveals that 341 companies in the Moldova region are recording a turnover of over 10 million euros. Achieving a turnover of over 10 million euros in the coming years is one of the key growth objectives for the selected companies in the ScaleOut 4×10 program initiated by RBL and ING, as referenced in the study mentioned here.

The study further highlights that the total turnover of the top 10 entrepreneurial companies in Vaslui County has increased by 15.8%. In total, only 26 entrepreneurial companies in Vaslui County have annual revenues exceeding 10 million euros.

The food industry, particularly the meat sector, dominates the hierarchy of the largest entrepreneurial companies in Vaslui county. Safir group plays a significant role in this context, both in terms of turnover – estimated at over 79 million euros for 2023 – and the impact it has on the community. By providing employment to nearly 800 individuals, the group contributes to the well-being of these families and the overall prosperity of the region.

Furthermore, employees receive loyalty bonuses, meal vouchers, access to medical subscriptions at a clinic with a nationwide extended network and holiday vouchers.
