A Challenging Three-Year Program, Giving Ambitious Graduates the Opportunity to Become One of Its Leadership Members

Global confectionery, food and pet food manufacturer Mars offers ambitious graduates with desire to have a great international career and become leaders a chance to get to know the world of top business by joining Mars Leadership Experience (MLE). MLE is a 3-year program, also targeting Romanian graduates, designed to unlock potential, build skills and provide stretching opportunities to kick off your career.

 

Mars, a family-owned business founded in 1911, sees every graduate as a potential leader. That is why the Mars Leadership Experience gives alumni a chance to get fully involved in company’s business right away. The candidate is handed important responsibilities, projects and roles with both local and international exposure from the very start of the program.

The global manufacturer is looking for future members of its leadership team and it expects the candidates to get fully involved in decision-making and finding ways for Associates, which is what Mars calls its employees, to work smarter and to stay ahead of the competition. That is what differentiates the Mars Leadership Experience from other graduate programs but at the same time also makes it tremendously challenging.

The Graduate kicks off the three-year program starting in either Prague or Bucharest where the first year is spent. Afterwards if successful, he or she will be given opportunity to relocate to a different market, having the company’s full support with both the move and living abroad.

Sinem Brun, currently part of the MLE program, in her second year within the Prague office of Mars, describes her experience as a great opportunity to grow both professionally as well as a personality. “I decided to join this program because I wanted to experience the business with the unique opportunity to be exposed to three different markets and three functions within three years. In addition to my expectations to develop professionally, I was astonished by the time and effort put in every Associates’ personal development,” says Sinem Brun.

In fact, the candidates are not alone. Besides the support they receive from other members of the team, they have assigned a dedicated mentor – a senior manager, and a buddy – a recent graduate who’s been in the same position not long ago. “If you like stretching your limits and stepping out of your comfort zone in order to grow, this MLE program is the perfect path to follow,” says Sinem Brun.

The program is altogether designed for the Graduate to experience not just different markets, but also different functions, teams, countries and products as it runs across a number of the markets where the Mars’ Multisales organization is present. After successfully finishing the program the graduate moves into a permanent role and decision on where to go next is largely driven by him or her.

To be able to succeed not just while applying but also during the three subsequent years the Graduate must be ready to take on responsibilities with real consequences, be full of drive and ambition. He or she must also be great communicator, willing to share ideas and ways how to make them happen just as well as listen to those of other Associates.

To embark on the three-year Mars Leadership Experience journey the candidates must register on the website available until March and fill out a form that will help Mars to get to know them, their study achievements and also goals for the future. Later they will be invited to undertake some online testing designed to assess their verbal numerical and logical reasoning skills. The next step is an online video interview and finally the virtual assessment centre, where they will meet Mars associates and participate in both individual and group activities.
