Writer A.G. Billig to offer first public lecture of her short-story book, “Four Doors and Other Stories”

On April 25, starting hour 19.00 at The Bankers (Old City), book lovers are welcomed to imagine the evening of Thursday as being a porcelain, exquisite, Chinese dinner plate, filled with the finest food for soul: up-lifting sounds provided by the Romanian wizard of the accordion Fernando Mihalache, crafted words of A.G. Billig, and delicate wine flavors.

A.G. Billig, the first Romanian writer to make her debut internationally, will read excerpts of her short-story book, “Four Doors and Other Stories”. The book sparkles with unique characters and startling images, each one walking the line between dream and reality.  The twelve stories in this collection travel from the magical doors in a French teacher’s hallway to a hidden copse in a gypsy camp, to a small town where a postman who delivers love letters is always losing his cap.  Four Doors and Other Stories explores the nature and the breadth of love, not only in its most recognizable forms—sacrifice, forgiveness, and longing—but in its strangest: in distance, infidelity, jealousy, and isolation.  Through surprising characters and varied storytelling, A.G. Billig blurs the line between dreams and the magic of reality to paint a portrait of love in all its forms.

Entrance: 40 RON  A glass of wine of choice included. Reading in English.

For more information, please contact: A.G. Billig, contact@agbillig.com or 0722568 356.
