Wizz Air is pleased to announce that Owain Jones has been appointed to the newly-created role of Chief Corporate Officer with effect from 01 June 2014. He will be based in Geneva, reporting to the CEO.

Owain started his career at Nicholson Graham & Jones before joining Wilde Sapte upon qualification as a solicitor, where he specialized in aviation and ultimately became a partner in successor firm Denton Wilde Sapte. Following a break from the law during which he qualified as a commercial pilot, he joined Wizz Air in September 2010 as its General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Directors.

In his new role, Owain will be responsible for the group’s legal function, as well as Human Resources, Communications and Public Relations and the group’s Facilities.

The new Chief Corporate Officer position will enhance senior management capacity and so help deliver Wizz Air’s business plans going forward.

Owain  said:

“Having first worked with Wizz Air in its early years of operation, I’m very excited to be appointed to lead the corporate functions at Wizz Air in this, the 10th anniversary year. I’m looking forward to working with our HR and Corporate Communications teams and to being involved in these interesting, demanding and fast-paced areas of Wizz Air’s business.”
