Visa has partnered with Google to launch Android Pay platform, which provides new secure payment solutions to financial institutions and to retailers who use the Android operating system at international level.

Android Pay’s secure APIs complement the Google – Host Card Emulation (HCE) functionality, in order to allow Visa cardholders to conduct mobile contactless payments at retailers, in stores and to pay in the Android applications.

“The launch of Android Pay confirms that 2015 is the year in which mobile payments will be made by consumers at large. Visa Europe is delighted by the perspective of working with Google to make available to Visa cardholders in Europe the Android Pay platform, which will enable them to make secure card payments through the Visa payWave and Visa Token Service technology”, stated in a release Jeremy Nicholds, executive director o Mobile, Visa Europe.
