U.S. food industry group Cargill is appointing Vasile Varvaroi general manager for Romania starting June 1. Varvaroi will coordinate the company’s local presence with a special emphasis on business in the field of grains and oil seeds. The new GM will also be responsible with growing the relationship between Cargill and local farmers.

Varvaroi has a 10-year experience with Cargill, working both in Romania and in Canada for the american company. In 2012, he rejoined the Romanian team, on a regional position as production line representative for grains and oil seeds in EEC (Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria).

Varvaroi will replace Martin Schuldt, who will return to Germany to take over the regional position the new GM has previously held.

Cargill entered the Romanian market in 1996 and currently employees 600 people in 17 locations throughout the country.
