Victor Ponta announced the new Government on Monday, after several negotiations with UDMR to join the USD coalition.

“Alongside the three parties, PSD, UNPR and PC, UDMR and PP-DD joined to support the government. In the future we will dialogue on concrete projects”, Ponta said at the beginning of the press conference.

Victor Ponta and Kelemen Hunor signed on Monday the agreement that would allow UDMR to join the governing coalition. In return for UDMR’s cooperation, USD promises to solve the problem of minority cultural rights, through the use of adequate legislation.

Furthermore, UDMR will finally receive a solution to the problem of the Hungarian section at UMF Targu Mures.

After signing the agreement, Ponta stated that he has always appreciated UDMR’s “competency and seriousness”, when they were on the same side and also on separate sides.

Before presenting the new ministers, the PM also announced the list of appointments will be sent to the Parliament on Tuesday and the new Government will be sworn in on Wednesday.
