Telecom operator UPC Romania has announced that it expanded its Fiber Power 200 Mbps internet service to the entire country, in the locations where it has coverage.

“At the end of 2013, we offered Fiber Power 200 Mbps in 24 localities, and today it is available across the entire coverage area of UPC internet services, in over 2 million households. (…) Studies show that the 200 Mbps speed is ideal for families with advanced connectivity needs, who own various equipment items that can connect to the internet simultaneously (tablet, laptop, smartphone)- over 90 percent of the UPC clients who have acquired Fiber Power 200 Mbps are very satisfied with the experience of this product,” according to Robert Redeleanu, CMO UPC Romania.

The launch of Fiber Power 200 Mbps internet has led to a 75 percent growth in the average internet speed used by UPC clients, which now has hit the 100 Mbps mark.

Approximately 57 percent of internet users who live in urban areas use at home at least 2 devices for internet access, while in 30 percent of the cases there are at least 3 such devices that can also connect automatically to Wi-Fi.

Over 45 percent of the UPC internet clients currently have Wi-Fi at home and UPC estimates that by the end of the year 70 percent of its internet customers will use Wi-Fi.
