Unemployment rate down to 7 percent in July

Romania’s unemployment rate went down to 7 percent in July, from 7.1 percent in the previous month, seasonally adjusted data from the statistics institute INS showed Friday.

Year on year, the unemployment rate registered a 0.3 percent drop.

The number of unemployed (aged 15 to 74) was 698,000 last month, down from 700,000 in June and down from 726,000 in July 2013.

There are more unemployed men than women: 7.7 percent unemployment rate for men and 6.2 percent in the case of women. For adult persons (25-74) the unemployment rate for July is at 5.7 percent.
