Unemployment climbs to 6.9 pct in April

Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose by 0.1 percent both against the previous month and compared to the level recorded in April 2014.

The number of unemployed persons (aged 15-74 years old), estimated for April last year is 628,000 people, up from the previous month (623,000 persons), but slightly down from the same month of the previous year (629,000).

By gender, men’s unemployment rate exceeds by 1.6 percent women’s unemployment rate (the values being 7.6 percent for men and 6 percent for women).

For adults (25-74 years), unemployment rate was estimated at 5.5 percent for April 2015 (6.2 percent for men and 4.6 percent for women).

The number of unemployed aged 25-74 years old represents 73.9 percent of the total number of unemployed persons estimated for April 2015.
