Tire producer Hankook inches closer to Romania

South Korean tire producer Hankook is already making its presence felt in Romania through importers. The European production takes place in Dunaujvaros/Hungary where the company opened a facility in June 2007. Currently, 2,700 employees produce 13 million tires every year for cars, SUV’s and light trucks.

The factory’s capacity will increase to 19 million tires a year, once the new production unit will be finalized.

The seventh biggest tire producer in the world, a distinction awarded to Hankook in 2007, offers Romanian importers the following products:
– summer tires for cars, pick-ups and SUV’s/4×4;
– winter tires for cars, pick-ups and SUV’s/4×4;
– all season for cars, commercial vehicles and  SUV’s/4×4;
– Off-road and On/Off-road tires for all seasons.

More than 30 percent of global sales for the company are generated in Europe and the CIS region. In July 2014, the company posted sales of USD 1.62 million for the second quarter, down from USD 1.66 million but up slightly from the first quarter of 2014.

Official Romanian importers are Marsorom, Dinamic ’92, Franck, Auto Soft, Best Tires and Railex.
