The Romanian Post and Intesa SanPaolo have started negotiations which will see the Romanian Post offer banking and financial services in its units across Romania, under its own brand.

”With the launch of the new portfolio of financial services distributed under its own brand, the Romanian Post will become over the next years one of the main players on the Romanian market of banking services. (…) The completion of the current offer of products and services with financial-banking services is part of the medium and long-term strategy assumed by the Romanian Post shareholders. It is a process that was implemented sucessfully by other national European postal administrations and the Romanian Post will be no exception. We expect that the Romanian Post Financial Services will have a major impact on the banking market,”said Alexandru Petrescu, managing director of the Romanian Post.

The Romanian Post has a network of 5,600 units.
Intesa Sanpaolo Bank has 76 units in the Romanian large cities, 800 employees and approximately 100,000 clients.
