The Ministry of Communications could see its budget soar by 5 percent

The budget of the Ministry of Communications could increase in 2013 by 5.06% up to RON 205.9 million (approximately EUR 47 million), as stipulates the budget draft published by the Ministry of Public Finances, according to the Agerpres newswire.

Probably the most important hike in the budget was in the allocation of funds for projects financed from external non-reimbursable funds. The sum for this direction will amount to RON 57.7 million (EUR 13.2 million), compared to RON 757,000 (EUR173,600) in 2012.

The sum allocated for travel abroad is deemed to greatly increase by 63.52% compared to 2012, up to RON 623,000 (nearly EUR 143,000).

On the other hand, staff expenses will decrease by 51.40 percent compare to 2012, down to RON 7.99 million (EUR 1.8 million), but salary expenses will increase by 14.49 percent, up to RON 6.15 million (approximately 1.4 million).

In the products and services category, the budget will also shrink by 58.05 percent compared to last year, up to RON 67.2 million (aprox. EUR 15 million).
