The Annual Architecture of Bucharest starts today

The tenth edition of the Annual Architecture of Bucharest is an urban event organized by the local architecture community where the public interested in the architecture’s impact on the face of the city can get in contact. This year’s concept is ECO – ARCHITECTURE, expressed in three main sections: the Competition of projects, the ECO – ARCHITECTURE conferences, the urban – cultural route of the Bucharest Architecture Annual 2012.

The 2012 edition become a Festival of Architecture brings to the public’s attention an important and relevant theme, with social, economic and cultural implications: the need for sustainable living, a less pollutant and more environmentally aware lifestyle. The ECO – ARCHITECTURE Concept is not only about the technology of building, it is about developing an attitude, a state of mind, a way of designing and building in perfect accordance with nature and human context.

This year, the public can visit several exhibitions, architecture conferences, workshops and books launching. The event will end with Street Delivery, the street-exhibition taking place on Verona Street.  The street will be closed for car traffic and will only allow access for pedestrians and bicycle users. Concerts, fairs and open-air feel-good activities as well as the winner projects of the Annual Architecture of Bucharest are all part of the program, among many other creative events.

The event will take place between the 1st and the 15th of June 2012, in locations such as Sala Dalles, the Știrbei Palace, Un Arte, Cărturești Library, the Universității Subway passage. This event is organized by the Romanian Chamber of Architects, the Bucharest Branch, in partnership with the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
