Business operations of Kaspersky Lab in Romania and Bulgaria will be integrated into the East-European region and will be coordinated directly from Kiev.

“Optimizing our regional operations and collaborating directly with our local distributors is a logical step for Romania, this representing the best and fastest way to address our clients in the corporate sector,” said Andrey Slobodyanik, Kaspersky Lab managing director for Eastern Europe.

“As far as residential customers are concerned, most of our products of this type are sold online, so we are adjusting our operations to answer the needs of our clients and their consumption behavior,” he added.

Teodor Cimpoesu, formerly country manager of Kaspersky Lab Romania and Bulgaria, leaves the company after 10 years and will start two personal projects in IT security, external trade and business intelligence.

Bucharest will remain an important hub for Kaspersky Lab as the global research and analysis team of the company will be run from Romania. The company aims to expand its R&D lab in Bucharest in 2013, and place focus on innovating technologies for malware protection and threat intelligence services.
