TEDxBucharest 2013 to start on November 9

Organized under license of TED conference, TEDxBucharest returns this year with the fifth edition, “Make it happen”. The Romanian audience will hear 20 speakers and performers both national and international, coming from countries such as Britain, Norway, Bulgaria and Romania, which will show unique and representative experiences in the areas of economics, extreme sports, IT&C , digital art, law, journalism , architecture and social commitment.

Some of the speakers are:

• Paul Radu, one of the most awarded Romanian investigative journalists , Knight International Fellow and founder of the Romanian Center for Investigative Journalism.

• George Smith, co -founder of Boston Technologies start -up, one of the 500 promising start -ups in the U.S. according to Inc. magazine .

• Yana Buhrer Tavanier , TED Fellow and human rights activist . Winner of multiple awards, also a journalist who works to expose the inhuman treatment to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health in the Balkans.

• Karina Hollekim, athlete and extreme sports practitioner.

• Simina Tănăsescu, Romanian specialist recognized at EU level in constitutional law.

Every speaker will deliver a speech of about 18 minutes, most of these speeches are held in English. Registration is available online, at  www.tedxbucharest.ro , until November 8, 2013 , and the price of a ticket is USD 100. The event takes place at Auditorium Pallady.
