Romanian IT company Teamnet International will update the IT system of the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration. The value of the contract, which was attributed following public tender, is RON 43,03 million (VAT included).
The agency’s IT system should be updated over the next 15 months, according to Mediafax.
Teamnet’s competitors during the tender were the associations made up from En-Genius Solutions and Bull Romania as well as Star Storage and Indra Sistemas.
The contract will be financed from European funds, via the European Fund for Regional Development, and the state budget.
The cadastre IT system was built and extended between 2007 and 2012 by IBM Romania and Esri Romania, for a total value of RON 93.5 million, VAT included.
Teamnet was founded by Social-Democrat deputy Sebastian Ghita, as part of the Asesoft group. In 2012, Ghita announced he sold all the shares he had in IT&C companies, including the stock in Teamnet.
In July 2014, two new shareholders, International Finance Corporation (IFC), the investment division of the World Bank, and the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), acquired a minority share package in Teamnet, providing financing of EUR 5 million and EUR 7.5 million respectively in long-term loans.
The Teamnet group announced a new brand identity in 2013 to align with the company’s plans to expand its footprint to 12 new markets in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. By 2016, the technology company’s turnover is projected to reach EUR 100 million.
