The Tandarica Animation Theatre goes on a tour in Guangzhou, China, with ten representations of Alice Barb’s Chinese-language “Alice in Wonderland” play.

The tournament starts on September 15 and lasts ten days, celebrating the ten-year agreement that the Tandarica Animation Theatre, the Guangzhou Performance/Film Co Ltd and Belei Theatre signed after 2012 was declared “The Year of Intercultural Dialogue: European Union – China.”

The program wants to develop cooperation between the Chinese people and the European Union’s cultural institutions. Also, the project plans to promote and consolidate the mutual understanding of values and traditions through cultural exchanges and to establish a long-term dialogue for policies of joint interest.

“Everyone has a history, we have vision, too. We have the vision to discover markets for our cultural product, both interesting and interested markets that know how to appreciate and capitalize the Romanian animation,” said Calin Mocanu, Tandarica Theatre’s manager and President of the International Association of Theaters for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ)Romania. Calin Mocanu received last year, at the International Art Fair inGuangzhou, the best cultural manager-agent award.

The premiere of the Chinese-language “Alice in Wonderland” play was on July 17 at the Tandarica Theatre in Bucharest. The Chinese-language version was possible with the help of well-known translator Simona Miclos, while the voices dubbing was made possible by young graduates from philology, Conservatory, arts and commerce faculties: Xue Bin, Wu Xiaoyu, Shi Yuhan, Ma Yuanyuan, Fang Shuang, Yang Zheng, Fang Sen and Jia Zhiha.
