Romanian pavers and vibropressed borders manufacturer Symmetrica has opened its fifth production unit in Sintereag, Bistrita Nasaud county. The new factory is a EUR 2 million greenfield investment and is the second opened by the company over the past six months. 30 percent of the money came from the company’s own funds while the rest was a bank loan, said Sebastian Bobu, managing director of Symmetrica.

“By opening the new factory, our market share will grow and there will also be a positive impact on sales,” he added. This year Symmetrica targets a EUR 16.2 million turnover and hopes for a 22 percent market share. Bobu previously said the company expects the local market for pavers and border to increase by 5 percent this year, both in value and volume, and should remain on an upward trend in the years to come.

The new factory can produce up to 2,000 sqm of pavers and vibropressed borders per day, taking the company’s total production capacity to 11,500 sqm per day.

The production facility covers some 1,500 sqm in addiction to warehouses, offices and a showroom. Works on the site began last autumn. The new factory will serve the North-western part of Romania more precisely the Bistrita, Maramures,Satu-Mare, Cluj, Mures, Zalau and Oradea counties.

Symmetrica was set up 18 years and has since invested over EUR 18.5 million in its five factories.
