Support for Windows XP and Office 2003 expires in April

Starting April 9, 2014, Microsoft will no longer offer security updates and technical support to users of Windows XP and Office 2003.

The company invited SMEs to access its platform to find out more information and benefit from support in planning the upgrade for Windows 8 and Office 365.

According to Microsoft’s policy regarding the lifecycle of support services, the Windows and Office products benefit from at least 10 years of support: 5 years of mainstream support and 5 years of extended support at Service Pack level.

The support for Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 expires on April 8, 2014.

Microsoft warns clients who use these services after the expiry date that they are exposed to potential security risks and will no longer receive support from software developers and hardware producers.

Microsoft recommends users of Windows XP and Office 2003 to upgrade to Windows 8 or Office 365.
