Stefanos Theocharopoulos may be replaced from the position of CEO of Cosmote and Romtelecom by yearend

Stefanos Theocharopoulos could be replaced from the position of CEO of Romtelecom and Cosmote by the end of this year, according to Hotnews.ro, which quotes sources close to the company.

Asked by Business Review, the representatives of Romtelecom and Cosmote said “we do not comment rumors on the market.”

Branimir Maric, currently CTIO at Slovak Telekom may be the person appointed for the job by Deutsche Telekom (DT). DT holds a 40 percent stake in Greek company OTE,  that runs Romtelecom, Cosmote and Germanos in Romania.

On the other hand, the same sources said that OTE is trying to appoint Panos Makris, currently CTO of Cosmote Romania, as deputy- general manager.

Stefanos Theocharopoulos, who was CEO of Cosmote, was also appointed GM of Romtelecom on July 1, 2011.
