Sorin Mindrutescu has resigned as president of the board of administration of state-owned railways company CFR SA, citing personal reasons, according to Mediafax newswire. He has held the position since April.

Mindrutescu is the former CEO of Oracle Romania.

The other members of CFR’s board of administration are George Micu (the company’s general director), Florin Kubinschi, Enache Jiru and Sebastian Tcaciuc. The current board of administration was appointed in mid-April, after the Ministry of Transport rejected the management plan proposed by the former board which led to appointing a new one.

In the first semester of 2013, CFR reported revenues worth RON 1.16 billion (approximately EUR 260 million), up 3.5 percent y-o-y, despite the fact that traffic dropped by 5 percent.
