Sorin Eftene appointed interim GM of Microsoft Romania

Microsoft announced officially that Ronald Binkofski is no longer general manager of the Romanian branch and he will continue his career as general manager of Microsoft Poland.

Binkofski will continue to contribute to key initiatives of Microsoft on the local market, including strategic partnerships with the Romanian government, programs for talent development and in projects regarding industrial clusters.

Sorin Eftene was appointed as interim general manager of Microsoft Romania. Eftene is one of the first employees of Microsoft in Romania, having served in various management positions within the Microsoft Services division. More recently, he was director of enterprise & partner group. Eftene is member of the management team of Microsoft in Central and Eastern Europe.

Binkofski was appointed GM of Microsoft Romania starting October 2010. During his term, Microsoft developed strategic partnerships with business and governmental organizations in national competitiveness, intellectual property rights and industrial clusters.

Previously, he worked for Microsoft in Poland as developer & platform evangelism lead and later as marketing, business and operations lead. Before joining Microsoft, he was CEE Area Manager in Software AG.

Binkofski has German and Polish citizenship. He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Jagiellonian University and specialized in mathematics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt.
