Somes Dej paper factory place on sale for EUR 7.9 mln after declaring bankruptcy

The paper and cellulose factory in Somes Dej, controlled by Stefan Vuza, declared bankruptcy in 2013 and has been placed on sale through direct negotiation, with a starting price of EUR 7.9 million, no VAT, according to Mediafax newswire.

The paper producer entered insolvency at the end of January 2013. 11 months later, the Cluj tribunal admitted the company’s bankruptcy.

Casa de Insolventa Transilvania will manage the direct negotiations for the industrial platform in Dej, an asset which includes terrains, buildings and equipment associated with the paper factory. The platform covers 604,345 square meters, out of which a third covered with industrial buildings.

Offers for participation in the direct negotiations are to be submitted by February 17, 2015.

The factory has a total capacity of 70,000 tonnes of cellulose, 50,000 tonnes of paper per year respectively. The cellulose production was halted in 2008, while the paper production ceased in 2010.
