As the 2014 Winter Olympic Games continues on, Norway has taken the lead in the medal tally. By Sunday’s end, a total of 17 countries have earned a medal — 10 more than the day before. The current rankings are below:

What did the Romanian athletes do?
Romania debuted at the Winter Olympics on saturday. Timea Sara was the first Romanian athlete to enter the competition, finishing 60th out of 61 in the Cross-Country competition on Saturday.
Cornel Puchianu managed to place 30th out 0f 87 in the Biathlong 10 km sprint event, a real surprise for the Romanian delegation, especially since this is Puchianu’s first time at the Winter Olympic Games. He is also the first ROmanian to qualify for the pursuit trial, which is scheduled for February 10, at 17:00.
Iulian Pitea, the youngest member of Romania’s delegation at 16 years old, din’t qualify for the Ski Jumping final, finishing 45th out of 51. Valentin Cretu finished 31st in the luge competition, matching his previous performances. Ioan Valeriu Achiriloaie finished second to last in the Alpine Skiing competition (46 out of 47).
Paul Constantin Pepene competed in the Cross Country competition, and finished 48th out of 68. Eva Tofalvi finished the Biathlon – 7,5 km spring event on the 22nd place, qualifying for the pursuit round.
