Romanian tennis player Simona Halep is through to the semi finals of the Indian Wells Masters tournament in California after beating Australia’s Casey Dellacqua.
Halep beat Dellacqua 6-2, 6-2 to progress to the semi-finals. This will send Halep to number 5 WTA, the best achievement of a Romanian tennis player in the WTA so far.
She will now play second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, who reached the semi-finals with a three-set win over former world number one Jelena Jankovic.
